The purpose of this research is to study about physical and chemical properties of wastewater was performed in Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University ( NSTRU). Test desired by sampling and analyzing of wastewater properties according to APHA (1995). The samples from wastewater were collected every 2 weeks for 4 months from 4 locations namely; playground, gate 1, old library and building 4. The sample were analyzed for pH, suspended solids, settleable solids, total dissolved solid, BOD, dissolves oxygen, sulfide, total kjeldahl nitrogen and orthophosphate.
The test result vary with discharge location and found that wastewater from 4 sampling locations in NSTRU were pH(6.44, 6.70, 6.65 and 6.72), suspended solids (24.75, 30.67, 25.75, and 40.92 mg/I), settleable solids (0.19,0.20,0.12 and 0.26mg/I), total dissolved solid (116.29, 121.29, 87.21, and 181.67 mg/I, BOD(17.64,29.63,7.36 and 110.33 mg/I), dissolved oxygen (4.05, 3.92, 6.19 and 2.32 mg/I) and orthophosphate (0.34,0.28,0.09 and 1.98 mg/I) respectively.
Referring from the details above, the wastewater from 2 sampling locations namely; playground and old library passed the wastewater standard and can be released into public waters. On the other hand, gate 1 and building 4 did not passes the wastewater standard and should be treated the wastewater before draining into natural reservoir.
