NSTRU holds a press conference on collaboration in supporting football




Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabahat University held a press conference on August 20, 2019 at Nilphayak Room to support the collaboration in football between the Nakhonsi United Football Club and Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University by the Nakhonsu NSTRU City Football Club.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanata Thatthong, President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, kindly visited to welcome all of the mass media representative, sponsors, and administrators from Nakhonsi United football club. Next, Mr. Kaenchon Boontor, President of Nakhonsi United Football Club, introduced the club including club’s executives and staff, followed by reporting the summary of club performance by Mr. Komkrit Suwannaphet, Director of the club.

The aim of the event as a result of the Nakhonsi NSTRU City football club has entered TA Thailand Amateur League 2020, and the winning teams in each zone will get to automatically join the professional football competition in Thai League 4, commonly known as the T4, which is the Fourth Level League in Thailand, in 2020. Moreover, a number of footballers in Nakhonsi NSTRU City football club are students of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, and the club has expressed a desire to the organizing committee for Thai Amateur League, to request to use the football stadium of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University as the home stadium in the group stage competition.

Formerly, the club applied in the name of Nakhonsi City, but Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University has allowed the university's English initial to be included in the name of the club, in order to show the mission that both have for each other in terms of supporting of players, training ground, and the stadium under the name "Nakhonsi NSTRU City". Meanwhile, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University also sponsored athletes and the use of training ground to Nakorn Sri United football club, a professional football team in Thai league level 3, for competing in Coke Cup Tournament (U19 Thailand Championship Qualifying Round): Southern Region. This year, the team was allocated into group D, together with the Nara United, Trang FC, and Hatyai City. Each team will one another in a round-robin basis, with the top one team of group advancing to the next round. The competition is scheduled to take place in Satun from September 18-26, 2019.

At 16:00, there also was a warm-up match between Nakhonsi NSTRU City and Srivijaya FC.
