NSTRU wins 2 prizes on Lan Takiang Kiang Din activity "Prate"

On September 27, 2019, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University joined the procession which was a part of the Lan Takiang Kiang Din activity at the Tenth Lunar Month in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The event was honored with a visit by Dr. Rong Boonsuaykwan, Member of the House of Representative, who preside over the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, the processions set off along Ratchadamnoen Road and were released from Phra Mahathat Woramahaviharn Temple towards Sanam Na Muang Public Park. The colorful processions attracted both local residents and tourists. A lot of people came to watch the beautiful processions.

On this occasion, Ajarn Thongphun Mukharak, a lecturer in Thai Dramatic Arts led a group of NSTRU students and staff to join the procession to contest in the category of Prate procession and Prate puppet. The results of judgment turned out tha Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University won the second runners-up prize from the Prate procession contest and the fourth runners-up prize from the Prate puppet contest, respectively. Asst. Prof. Kanata Thatthong, Ph.D, President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University together with Ajarn Preechaporn Ketkaew represented NSTRU in taking receipt of the awards and money award, which was given by Nakhon Si thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization.

This activity is considered as one of the highlights and create smile to the public along the route when the procession passed by, whether it be the magnificent colorful processions with the beauty of the dress code of NSTRU students and personnel, the fun with folk performances by tall narrow drum band, and being excited from the Prate puppet and students who dress in Prate as well.
