NSTRU Representatives lay a wreath on Raphee Day

In the morning of August 07th, 2018, Mr. Kamol Bunmuang, Director of General Affairs Division, the representatives of staff, and the Department of Laws from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences laid a commemorative wreath on Raphee Day to pay respect to HRH Prince Raphee Phatthanasak. This wreath-laying ceremony took place at Nakhon Si Thammarat City Hall.

HRH Prince Raphee Phatthanasak is recognized as the Father of Thailand Modern Legal System”. The Prince took initiatives on establishment of the first law school in the country in 1897. He drew up a syllabus and taught the students himself. In his 14 years in office, he laid a firm foundation for the Thai legal system.

Every year on the 7th of August, Thai people remember and pay their respects to HRH Prince Raphee Phatthanasak, who passed away on August7, 1920 at the age of 45 years.  Thailand remains indebted to this extraordinary man, his contributions to the development of law in Thailand, and his selfless devotion to the well-being of our nation.
