NSTRU Folks plants trees to commemorate the birthday of HM Queen Sirikit on the 12thof August




Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University organized tree planting activity to celebrate the birthday of HM Queen Sirikit (Rama IX) that annually falling on August 12th. The event took place at Son Soi Forest Learning Centre under the lead of Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanata Thatthong, President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, which was also held in cooperation with different organizations of government and private sectors in Nakhon Si Thammarat including Mr. Yongyut Jitsamruaj, Sheriff of the Sichon District, heads of local administration, public organization representatives in Sichon district, private sector representatives, lecturers, students and staff of Nakhon Si Thammarat University, teachers and students of Wat Tham Thian Thawai School, about 500 people in total.

This activity was dubbed as “Son Soi Forest Learning Centre - Land of the King for developing community”, will also increase the forest’ green areas. According to the university’s policy that NSTRU has been active in promoting the NSTRU Green Campus and conserving and maintaining the forest areas belonging to the campus. Despite a few rains that made the plant propagation more complicated, the project was successful in planting 360 Shorea roxburghii (Payom), 400 Burma Padauk (Pradu), 400 Hopea odorata (Ta-khian), 200 Mulberry, 7,000 saplings, 50 Mango, and 50 Cashew trees which were expected to help maintain the ecosystem in the forest while providing a natural learning source and green environment for the public.
