NSTRU representatives participate in the IMT-GT UniNet STEM Meeting in Malaysia

On December 12, 2018, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanata Thatthong, President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University assigned Dr. Supat Buddee, a Coordinator who in-charged the University’s STEM Project together with Mr. Arnont Chamchan, International Relations Officer from the International Relations Department to be the representatives of NSTRU to attend the IMT-GT University Network (Uninet) Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) Meeting held by the STEM Admin Team in partnership with University of Malaya, Malaysia at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and also had access to the exclusive analysis and understanding of the data that goes behind the IMT-GT. There are 4 Thai educational institutes, 1 Indonesia educational institute, and 8 Malaysia educational institutes in the meeting. This meeting aimed to gather all stakeholders, and create strategies and support on IMT-GT UniNet STEM activities.

In the morning, there was a meeting for discussing about strategies, program thrusts and implementation issues and other topics. At present, IMT-GT UniNet has members from more than 40 universities representing 3 countries including, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. This is a new dimension of collaboration between the member states and provinces in the three countries educational institutions.

The NSTRU representatives also visited the Institute of Microengineering and Nanoelectronics (IMEN) where is one of the research centers of excellence in UKM, with a yearly performance that modestly surpasses the university’s expectations. Furthermore, Imen has been chosen as one of Centre of excellent of Malaysia Nanotechnology in 2011. Before leaving Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, NSTRU representatives stopped by the Faculty of Science and Technology and were pleasantly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr Faizal KP Kunchi Mohamed, the Chairperson of School of Applied Physics and his team.
