IRD organizes the X-CHANGE International Camp 2019




On June 24-28, 2019, the International Relations Division (IRD), Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU) organized the “X-Change International Camp 2019” for Thai and international undergraduates as well as staff at Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, Nang Talung Nai Suchart Subsin in Mueang District, Son Soi Forest Learning Centre in Sichon District, and Nopphitham Integrated Agro-Tourism Enterprise Group in Nopphitham District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The objectives of this camp were to enlighten the participants on cross-cultural sensitivity, leadership traits, network building, and ability to adapt in the new circumstances. Also, it provided an opportunity to strengthen the fraternity and promote sustainable relationship in terms of academic and cultural exchange affairs among universities who attended. There were 40 students and staff from 2 universities in 2 countries including, the University of Northern Philippines (UNP), from the Philippines and Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU), from Thailand participated the camp.

The event was supervised by International Relations Officer, Mr. Arnont Chamchan. Meanwhile, the programme was conducted in a professional manner by the specialists of the fields, namely Filipino teachers from Satit Demonstration School on the ice-breaking activity, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teerawat Changsan, Assistant to the President for Arts and Culture Affairs on the “Thai Traditional Class”, Dr. Jatuporn Kongthong, lecturer from the Foods and Nutrition Program on the “Thai Cooking Class”, Ajarn Watee Subsin, the inheritor of Nang Talung Nai Suchart Subsin on the “Experiencing Thai Folk Culture”, Khun Wilawan Janyadee, the Head of Nopphitham Integrated Agro-Tourism Enterprise Group on the “CSR Learning” or the community learning to promote the participants learning through active participation in meaningful and planned service experiences in the community.

The opening ceremony was held at Cultural Center on 24th June, 2019, by having the honor from Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanata Thatthong, President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabat University, who presided over and delivered the welcome address to all participants, with Mr. Arnont Chamchan, International Relation Officer conveyed a reporting speech. Additionally, the NSTRU students majoring Classical Dance and Drama Program, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences had a chance by performing two sets of the welcoming show that considered as a good manners of Thai traditional to welcome the newcomers.

On the last day, the participants enthusiastically shared the lessons learnt from the activities and brainstormed how they could implement the knowledge they had gained in the future. The workshop ended with the certificate presentations by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanata Thatthong, President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University. Indeed, it was a grand success. The participants had gained abundant knowledge and lessons which will enable them to be the better leaders in the future.
