NSTRU and the Network of Rajabhat University Southern Area Group organize a meeting on research project management planning

On December 8-9, 2019, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University led by Asst. Prof. Surasak Kaew-Orn, Director of Institute of Research and Development, together with the President of the Southern Region Rajabhat University Group organized a minor research project management planning meeting on "Creative Community Tourism based on the Knowledge of Local Food Wisdom in Lan Saka District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province" at Sri-Prai 2 Meeting Room, Building 1, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University.

Also, the second day of meeting featured a discussion forum that accented the ways how to raise the potential of tourism through creative communities at the Main Meeting Room, Loy Chalet Hotel, Lan Saka District, Nakhon Sri Thammarat.

Actually, this project is supervised by Ajarn Wichien Manlae, Vice Director of Institute of Research and Development, which under the major project on "Potential Enhancement of Creative Community Tourism for Areas of Development based on Local Identities, Network of Rajabhat University Group and Associate Member". The attendees also include executives from Research and Development Institute and researchers from the Network of Rajabhat University Southern Area Group; namely, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, Surat Thani Rajabhat University, Phuket Rajabhat University, Songkha Rajabhat University, and Yala Rajabhat University.

The objectives of this meeting were as follows;
1) To develop and create value to tourism products through creative communities based on local food wisdom of communities in Lan Saka District, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with the relationship mission statement between the university and society.
2) To develop the potential of the community to be a role-model community in tourism through creative communities based on local food wisdom of the communities in Lan Saka District. Nakhon Sri Thammarat with the relationship mission statement between the university and society.
3) To develop the tourism distribution channels through creative communities based on the local food wisdom of the southern region with community responsibilities in Lan Saka District, Nakhon Sri Thammarat.
4) To develop a research management system and the relationship mission statement at the university and regional level.

Moreover, several parties involved in this meeting such as, Lan Saka District Office, Lan Saka Subdistrict Administration Organization, Khao Kaeo Subdistrict Administration Organization, Khun Thale Subdistrict Municipality, Tourism Authority of Thailand - Nakhon Si Thammarat Office, Nakhon Si Thammarat Tourism Business Association, Nakhon Si Thammarat Tourism Community Association, Lan Saka Tourism Business Association, Lan Saka District Tourism Association, Ban Khiri Wong Ecotourism Club, and various professional groups in Lan Saka District.

This two-day meeting also featured interesting activities including; presentation of relationship mission statement related to local development according to the King’s Science by Asst. prof. Sucharee kaewkong, Vice President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, introduction of research team as well as informing the background of each minor project, and a discussion forum to seek the basic information on the following issues; local food products in Lan Saka District; tourism resources in various sub-districts of Lan Saka District; driving tourism in the community of Lan Saka District; and the image and tourist market in Lan Saka District, to be used as a guideline for surveying and further development.
