Opening Ceremony - Freshmen Sports Competition 2019 or "The 17th Mahachai Games"





Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University’s Student Development Division and Student Administrative Organization hold hands to organize the 2019 Freshmen Sports Competition or officially known as, "The 17th Mahachai Games" from February 5-29, 2020. Five faculties sent their own athletes to complete against one another in 6 kinds of games including football, futsal, chair ball, volleyball, basketball and athletics.

The 17th Mahachai Games is held with the objectives as follows;
• To encourage students to have skills in playing sports and doing exercise for their own healthy health.
• To encourage students to play sports, using their own time wisely in order to away from drugs.
• To cultivate students in morality, ethics, discipline, respect for rules and volunteerism.
• To promote and support talented athletes of the University in developing to be excellence.

On the evening of Saturday, 29th February 2020, the closing ceremony of Mahachai Games 2019 was held at the NSTRU Sports Arena. The ceremony began with students from 5 faculties parading into the arena followed by Mr. Pongsathorn Sompan, Director of Student Administrative Organization conveying the reporting speech briefing about the objectives of the event, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanata Thatthong, President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University presiding over. Among the VIP guests were Asst. Prof. Supamart Issarapan, Vice President; Mr. Jeeranan Preechacharn, Assistant to the President; Asst. Prof. Thanom Lekhaphan, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Asst. Prof. Dr. Somrak Rodcharoen, Vice Director of Research and Development Institute; administrators, personnel, officers from Division of Student Development, committee members of Student Administrative Organization, Presidents of Student Unions of different faculties, students and athletes.

After the reporting speech and the opening ceremony, the ceremonial torch was lit as the official sign for the start of "The 17th Mahachai Games". There are two representatives running with the torch and lighting the opening fire. Ajarn Warachet Prohmprasit, Head of Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Technology was the representative of adult athletes to lead the sportsmanship oath. The event also featured the parade contest, cheer leading contest, and drum major competition, which the trophy will be awarded to the faculty that scored the highest in all the games.
